Born Sylvie Alexandra Binder on June 25th, 1999 in New York City…Daughter of Jeffrey and Cynthia Binder… Parents both graduated from Johns Hopkins University…Younger sister Abby plays volleyball and younger brother Zach who also fences…Organized “Go Green” fencing tournament in which proceeds went to the Conservation Fund, a non-profit organization that preserves farm and woodlands across the US…Interned at ArtsWestchester, a nonprofit art organization, during her senior year…Columbia was her dream school because it allows her to be part of a world-class institution while pursuing her passion for fencing…Listens to rap before meets to “get in the zone”… Hobbies include art, exploring new places to eat and photography… Favorite movie is the Sound of Music.
