NEW YORK—After dropping the doubles point, the No. 44 ranked Columbia women's tennis team won four consecutive singles matches to claim a 4-1 Ivy League victory over Dartmouth Saturday at Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
The victory improved Columbia to 14-4 overall and 3-3 in the Ivy League, while Dartmouth drops to 3-17 overall and 0-6 in Ivy League play.
The win gave Columbia its 14
th victory on the year. The 14 wins rank as the second most dual match victories in a season in the 34-year history of the Columbia women's tennis program. The school-record stands at 16 set by the 2014 team.
Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead by claiming two of the three doubles matches. Dartmouth's Abigail Chiu and Nicole Conard won a 6-3 victory over Columbia first-year

Andrea Kevakian won a 6-4 decision at No. 2 doubles over Dartmouth's Racquel Lyn and Jingyi Peng, then Dartmouth's Nina Paripovic and Allison Chuang won a close 7-5 battle against Columbia sophomore

After the doubles matches, it was all Columbia. Kevakian started the rally off with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles over Dartmouth's Chuyan Guan. Bhan gave Columbia a 2-1 lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles over Dartmouth's Chiu. Then Wan defeated Paripovic 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and Sakar sealed Columbia's win with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles over Dartmouth's Jingyi Peng.
"I was very impressed with our resiliency," Columbia Head Coach
Ilene Weintraub said. "We showed great resiliency as we battled back after dropping the doubles point and being down 1-0."
