Columbia will move on to face Brown on Saturday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Columbia women's tennis team opened the ECAC Championships with a strong 4-0 win against Dartmouth on Friday afternoon at Harvard's Murr Center. Columbia improves to 7-1 overall this season.

Columbia continued to show some strength in its doubles game by securing the doubles point to start Friday's dual match. The duos of Gayathri Krishnan and Sophia Strugnell and Winta Tewolde and Rachele Rimondini won their matches to clinch the doubles point for the Lions.

Krishnan and Strugnell continued their perfect doubles record this spring and moved to 6-0 with a win over Dartmouth's Brooke Hess and Katie Weber in the No. 2 doubles, 6-2. Tewolde and Rimondini clinched the doubles point for Columbia with a hard fought, 7-6(4) win against Lexi Dewire and Caroline Lemcke in the No. 3 spot.
