Final Stats

BATON ROUGE, LA. - Two days into the season, the Lions are 2-2 with a win over Ohio and a loss to LSU today in Baton Rouge, La. at the Purple & Gold Challenge. CU started the day with a 1-0 loss to host Louisiana State and finished the day with a 2-0 shutout over the Bobcats.

In the second game, the score remained 0-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning. Taylor Tierney led off the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by catcher Shelle Borton. Kacy Krisman then singled to center field, advancing Tierney to third. With runners at second and third, Kim Krisman ripped a single down the right field line, which was bobbled by the right fielder, allowing both runners to score.

Kim Krisman finished the game going 1-for-2 at the plate and had the team's two RBI. Pitcher Meghan Ivey held Ohio scoreless, allowing six hits, four strikeouts and striking out the last batter in the seventh inning looking.

Against LSU, the Tigers were able to score a run in the first inning on an error by pitcher Jackie Adelfio. The score remained the same for the rest of the game, with LSU winning 1-0.

Kim Krisman and Ciji Rich accouted for the Lions two hits and Adelfio took the loss for CU, finishing the game allowing one unearned run, eight hits and striking out one.

The Lions play both teams again tomorrow, Sunday, March 6th. CU faces the Bobcats at 12:15 p.m. and the Tigers at 2:30 p.m.
