Wrestling Posts Multiple Placewinners at East Stroudsburg

At 125, Jeff Sato ripped off four straight wins en route to the finals, including a 3-2 decision over 16th-ranked Hofstra's Dave Tomasette before falling to Penn State's Dave Haas in the finals. Teammate Brandon Kinney ultimately placed fifth at 125.
Matt DeLorenzo placed fifth at 133. DeLorenzo earned a bye and won twice in a row before dropping a 3-2 decision to East Stroudsburg's Nate Nauroth.
In his first meet since the 2004 EIWA Championships, Steve Sutton responded with a sixth-place finish at 141, defeating Hofstra's John Manarte during the tournament.
At 149, Ricky Turk earned a third-place finish, defeating Harvard's Matthew Button 5-0 in the third-place match, and knocking off Rider's Don Fisch along the way.
First-years Derek Sickles and Orrin Kleinhenz each went 3-2 during the tournament.
"It was a good performance and a good warmup for the rest of the season," Andrew F. Barth Head Wrestling Coach Brendan Buckley said. "In such a huge tournament, it was a long, hard day, but it was good to see the guys get alot of matches in."
Columbia returns to action on Friday, December 2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
