Men's Tennis Defeats Army, 6-1

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Columbia won at first and second doubles and went on to win five singles spots to give the Lions a 6-1 victory over Army at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center. The Lions are now 2-0 on the season.
Jimmy and Marty Moore defeated Carl Fisher and Phil Muhawi, 8-2 at #1 doubles and Paul Ratchford and Dan Urban won at second doubles, 8-2. Scott Robbin and Marc Clemente fell to John Houghton and Kevin Harris, 9-8 (5) n the third doubles spots.
J. Moore lost a tough match to Houghton at #1 singles, 6-3, 7-6 (5), but the Lions swept from there. Clemente defeated Fisher 6-4, 6-3 at the #2 spot and Ratchford won at third singles 6-1, 6-2. M. Moore and Jared Drucker followed suit by defeating Eddie Kang and Muhawi respectively by the same score. Dan Urban rallied to defeat Sean Harris, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 for the final 6-1 margin.
The Lions return to action on February 10th, when they host UMBC at 2 p.m.
