
Wrestling Wins A Tight One At Binghamton, 19-18

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Columbia wrestling team was once again victorious, topping Binghamton, 19-18, in the second dual of the weekend.
With the victory, Columbia improved to 2-1 in duals on the season. The win was fresh off a Friday victory against Buffalo, in which the Lions rolled, winning eight of 10 matches.
Columbia escaped with six victories today, highlighted by four straight victories from 133 to 157. Angelo Amenta got the ball rolling for Columbia, earning an 8-2 decision over Joe Nelson at 133. In the 141 pound match, Jacob Macalolooy knocked off Dylan Caruna with a 6-1 decision. Connor Sutton and Markus Scheidel both scored double-digit points in victories at 149 and 157.
The other two victories for Columbia came from Shane Hughes at 174, and Matt Idelson at 197. Hughes was a 1-0 winner, while Idelson was an 8-6 winner.
Next up, the Lions travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, for a Friday night dual against Bucknell, before the first home match of the season in Levien Gymnasium, a tri-dual with American and Hofstra on Sunday.
