KANSAS CITY - First-year Iman Blow continued to show her strength on the national stage this past weekend, picking up a silver medal at the November North American Cup (NAC) where six members of the 2015-16 Columbia fencing team finished in the Top 32.
Blow advanced to the gold medal round after a tough 15-13 victory over Stefani Deschner, but could not defeat Elyssa Kleiner in the finale, falling 15-7, to take the silver in junior women's foil.
Along that journey, Blow met up with fellow teammate Quinn Crum in the top 16, defeating her fellow Lion who would go on to take ninth in the field of 196.
On the women's epee side, it was Katie Angen who led the way after taking seventh place overall in the field of 141, falling to Tatijana Stweart, 15-6, to end her run.
The women's team saw a member finish among the top 25 in each event as Anastasia Ivanoff rounded out the Lions with a 23rd-place finish in the field of 141 of women's junior sabre.
A pair of men also found themselves in the top 32 over the weekend as Porter Hesslegrave (21st) and Gabe Canaux earned points in the field of 225 in men's junior epee.
The defending NCAA champion fencing team will return to action on Nov. 21 as they head to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the Penn Elite Invitational.
