COLUMBIA'S STATUS
The Lions fell, 81-71, at Kansas State in its first game of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. Five Wildcat players scored in double-figures and K-State shot 50.0 percent from the floor.
Luke Petrasek had 19 points and eight rebounds. Alex Rosenberg chipped in 16, while Isaac Cohen grabbed a game-high 10 boards.
NORTHWESTERN'S STATUS
The Wildcats outlasted Fairfield, 79-72, Wednesday night as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic to improve to 2-0.
Bryant McIntosh had a strong all-around game with 20 points, five assists and four steals against the Stags.
SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be just the third meeting all-time between Columbia and Northwestern. The teams last faced off on Nov. 30, 1991, a 78-60 victory for the Wildcats in Evanston.
COLUMBIA VS. THE BIG 10
The Lions are 30-33 all-time against teams currently in the Big 10. Columbia's most common opponent is Rutgers, who they hold a 26-21 record against, including their last win against a Big 10 foe, an 85-75 win on the road on Dec. 2, 1976. The Lions most recently played against the conference on Nov. 15, 2013, a 63-52 loss at Michigan State.
CBE HALL OF FAME CLASSIC
Friday night's contest is part of the ”host round” of the CBE Hallf of Fame Classic. Northwestern, Kansas State, North Carolina and Missouri will serve as host in the preliminary games and will play in the Championship Rounds in Kansas City on Nov. 23-24. Columbia's Nov. 24 game against Wofford and Nov. 27 gamee at Fairfield will also be part of the event. The tournament, in partnership with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), was initially established in 2001 as the Guardians Classic.
LEHIGH'S STATUS
The Mountain Hawks will face two Ivy League opponents in a row, taking on Yale in its home opener Thursday before making the trek to Morningside Heights.
Lehigh has fallen at Syracuse and Canisius to start its season. Five players scored in double-figures, led by 20 points by Austin Price against the Golden Griffins Monday
SERIES HISTORY
Columbia is 25-21 against Lehigh, going back to the 1962-63 campaign. The teams met up for the first time in five seasons in 2014-15 with the Lions coming away with a 54-44 victory at Stabler Arena.
COLUMBIA VS. THE PATRIOT LEAGUE
Columbia has a rich history playing teams in the Patriot League. The Lions are 127-97 against teams currently in the conference. Columbia's most common opponent is Army, who they have faced 57 times. Last season, the Lions went 4-1 against the Patriot League.

Junior Luke Petrasek turned in a stellar performance off the bench at Kansas State, posting a game-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go with eight rebounds.
