
Three Fencing Alumni Medal Pan-American Games

TORONTO – A trio of Columbia fencing legends competed at the 2015 Pan-American Games last week and earned a combined four medals at the event.
Jeff Spear won gold with the U.S. sabre team, defeating Chile, Argentina and Canada to reach the top of the podium.
Nicole Ross won a pair of bouts to reach the semifinals of the women's foil competition, but was defeated by teammate Lee Kiefer. Ross bounced back to win her next match to earn a bronze medal.
Ross was joined by Nzingha Prescod, who was coming off here historic performance at the Senior World Championships, in the team foil event. The United States cruised to victories against Cuba and Brazil before being edged by Canada, 38-37, in the gold medal contest.
