Men's Basketball Squares Off Against Army West Point Tuesday

OPENING TIP-OFF
• Columbia fell at Penn State, 79-65, Friday night. Five PSU players scored in double-figures and two long scoring droughts in each half doomed the Lions.
• Army West Point is coming off a 94-73 triumph at Marist Saturday night. Jordan Fox tied the Black Knights' single-game record with nine made 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 33 points.
• Tuesday will be the 59th all-time meeting between the Lions and Black Knights. Army holds a 38-20 edge in the series, including a comeback 88-83 triumph in Levien Gymnasium last November.
• The Lions are in the midst of a seven-game road swing to start the 2017-18 campaign.

ARMY WEST POINT'S STATUS
The Black Knights' first win of the season came against DIII John Jay. Army has scored 90 or more points in both wins and is 28-of-56 (50 percent) from 3-point range in its last two contests and is holding opponents to just 28.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc on the season. Fox leads three players averaging in double-figures at 18.7 points on 59.1 percent shooting from downtown.

COLUMBIA VS. THE PATRIOT LEAGUE
Columbia has a rich history playing teams in the Patriot League. The Lions are 130-99 against teams currently in the conference. Columbia's most common opponent is Army, who they have faced 58 times. The Lions went 1-2 against the conference in 2016-17, falling to Army and Navy and topping Colgate. The Lions' next game will come at the Raiders Saturday.

FROM DOWNTOWN
The Lions tied a school record with 16 made 3-pointers in their win over Longwood on Nov. 14. Columbia previously accomplished the feat against Brown (Feb. 10, 2012) and Kean (Nov. 13, 2015).
