HANOVER, N.H.—Trailing by one point in overtime, Dartmouth's Taylor Johnson dribbled the length of the floor and converted a coast-to-coast layup with one second left to give the Big Green an 80-79 upset win over Columbia Saturday evening at Leede Arena.

In overtime, Columbia held a four-point lead (79-75) on two Mike Smith free throws with 20 seconds to go, but couldn't hold on as Dartmouth's Evan Boudreaux knocked in a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left. After Columbia missed two free throws with seven seconds to play, Johnson grabbed the rebound, dribbled the length of the floor and converted a layup with one second to give Dartmouth the lead. Columbia, which led by as many as five points in overtime, had one last chance, but the inbounds pass was batted away by the Big Green.

For the fourth straight game, Columbia overcame a large margin late in the game, this time, a 12-point deficit with 8:54 to go in regulation. The Lions used an 8-0 run to cut Dartmouth's lead down to three points (67-64) with 2:12 to play, then scored the final five points in regulation to force overtime. Nate Hickman converted a 3-point play with 1:31 to go, then Smith hit a jumper to tie the game at 69-69 with 1:08 to play. Neither team scored in the final 1:08. Dartmouth's Johnson had one last chance to win the game in regulation and swished a 38-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer, but the shot was ruled no good.

Columbia was led by Luke Petrasek, who finished with 18 points (7-14 FG). Nate Hickman scored 16 points on 3-6 3-point attempts, Mike Smith added 14 points, Quinton Adlesh contributed nine points and four assists and Patrick Tape scored eight points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Petrasek (987 points) needs just 13 points to become the 28th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points.

Dartmouth (6-17, 3-7 Ivy League) was led by Guilien Smith, who scored a game-high 23 points on 8-14 shooting. Johnson finished with 18 points and hit 4-6 3-pointers and Boudreaux finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Big Green converted 52 percent of their 3-point attempts and hit a season-high 13 3-pointers. Johnson hit four 3-pointers, followed by Smith's three, while Boudreaux, Brendan Barry and Miles Wright hit two apiece.

Dartmouth used a 7-0 run fueled by 3-pointers from Smith and Johnson to take its 60-46 lead with 8:54 to play in regulation.

Columbia led by as many as five points and for the majority of the first half until Dartmouth ended the period on a 4-0 run. The evenly played, back-and-forth game was deadlocked at 35-35 at halftime and 69-69 at the end of regulation.

Columbia's three-game win streak vs. Dartmouth was snapped.

Columbia (10-13, 4-6 Ivy League) is back in action next weekend for its two final home games at Levien Gymnasium: vs. Princeton (Friday, Feb. 24) and vs. Penn (Saturday, Feb. 25).
