Men's Tennis Sweeps Bryant, 7-0

NEW YORK - The No. 21 ranked Columbia men's tennis team continued its winning ways with a 7-0 sweep of Bryant, today at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center. With the victory, the Lions end the non-conference slate at 11-3.
Columbia once again got off to a quick start in the doubles point, claiming victory in all three matches. Michal Rolski and Adam Ambrozy took the third match in 6-1 fashion, before Shawn Hadavi and Jackie Tang won the top match, 6-2, and the No. 19 ranked pair of Victor Pham and Richard Pham won the middle match, 6-3.
Singles play was more of the same, as the Lions won five of the six matches in straight sets.
Columbia led 2-0 when No. 72 Victor Pham was a 6-2, 6-2 winner in the top match against Bryant's Matt Kuhar.
The third match was the next to go for the Lions, when No. 90 ranked Jackie Tang topped Luke Lorenz, 6-0, 6-2. Hadavi clinched the match for Columbia, when he defeated Josh Kliger in the second match, 6-2, 6-1.
The Bulldogs and the Lions went on to finish the match out, with Alex Keyser, William Matheson and Timothy Wang all posting victories for Columbia.
Next weekend, the Lions open Ivy League play at home against No. 18 Cornell. The two highly ranked Ancient Eight opponents play a rematch from the Lions 4-1 win during the ECAC Championship on Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m. from the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
