
Women's Squash Drops Heartbreaker to Penn, 6-3

No. 6 Columbia women's squash dropped a tough match to No. 7 Penn this afternoon, 6-3. After defeating the Quakers for the first time in program history just under a week ago, the Lions could not repeat the feat as they fell in the consolation semi-finals.
Cambridge, Mass. — No. 6 Columbia women's squash dropped a tough match to No. 7 Penn this afternoon, 6-3. After defeating the Quakers for the first time in program history just under a week ago, the Lions could not repeat the feat as they fell in the consolation semi-finals.
The match was tied at three with the last three matches in progress. Tanvi Khanna fell to the No. 1 player in College Squash, Reeham Sedky in three sets. Doria Chen was down two sets to one and battled her way back to win the fourth set, 12-10. Chen fell in the fifth, 11-8, to give Penn the clinching fifth victory. Jui Kalgutkar went up 2-0 in her match, but was unable to close it out and fell in five sets to Penn's Haley Scott in the No. 4 position to complete the match.
Four of the six Columbia losses went to four sets, and two were in five sets.
Habiba Mohamed, Addie Fulton and Diana Masch all picked up three set victories in the No. 5, 8 and 9 positions.
The Lions will play their final match of the CSA Team Nationals tomorrow as they will face No. 8 Cornell at 9 a.m. Columbia will look to close out the season with the win tomorrow. With a victory, the Lions will finish the season at No. 7 in the nation.
