Swanepoel led the men's squash team to their first Ivy League title in program history as the Lions went undefeated in league play in 2017-18.
The men's squash team also placed two players on the All-Ivy League team with Osama Khalifa being named Ivy League Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, and first-year Velavan Senthilkumar recieving a unanimous first team All-Ivy selection.
This is Swanepoel's second Ivy League Coach of the Year nod, as he recieved the award in 2014-15 after guiding the Lions to a 13-4 record and a fourth-place national finish, the program's best season in its history.
Jacques Swanepoel was named the first-ever Kenneth W. Torrey Head Coach of Squash for the Lions in September 2009, before the men and women's squash programs began varsity competition in Fall 2010. The Lions had finished in second place in the Ivy League for three consecutive seasons before capturing the trophy this year.
