NEW YORK – Following a strong showing in the season opener at the Princeton Open (Nov. 3), sophomore Matt Kazimir has earned the first national ranking for Columbia Wrestling of the 2019 season, with Kazimir coming at No. 19 at 141 pounds as announced by Amateur Wrestling News on Nov. 12.
Kazimir, who took the title at 141 pounds at the Princeton Open, has been off to a strong start and within the composite rankings of the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association, Kazimir currently holds the highest ranking of anyone falling under the 141-pound ranking. Along with Kazimir, Core Shie (Army), Anthony Sparacio (Binghamton) and Sal Profaci (American) have all earned rankings across the six publications that the EIWA considers when putting together weekly rankings for wrestlers within the EIWA.
