
Manchio And Kazimir Earn Rankings In Latest Trackwrestling National Rankings

Columbia Wrestling sophomore Matt Kazimir joined fellow sophomore Joe Manchio in the latest Trackwrestling rankings.
NEW YORK – After the weekend at the Patriot Open, which saw sophomores Matt Kazimir (first place) and Joe Manchio (third place) each pace Columbia Wrestling (0-1) with top finishes, both Lions have remained among the land of the ranked, with Manchio coming in at No. 26 in the latest Trackwrestling 125-Pound rankings and Kazimir earning his first ranking by Trackwrestling coming in at No. 22 at 141 Pounds in the latest national wrestling rankings announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Manchio (14-2) also came in ranked No. 19 by Intermat in their latest 125-pound rankings, as the Columbia sophomore has held a national ranking in both Trackwrestling and Intermat for the past three weeks, following his solid performance in California which saw him knock off the then-ranked No. 14 125-pounder at Stanford (Nov. 23) and win the Roadrunner Open (Nov. 24). Manchio's weekend at the Patriot Open saw him battle to three wins and a third-place finish, dropping only one match to Gage Curry (American), who following his win over Manchio has entered the rankings coming in at No. 25 by Trackwrestling.
Kazimir's (14-1) weekend was again solid, taking five wins at the Patriot Open to win the title at 141 pounds. His solid weekend not only earned him his first Trackwrestling ranking, but also his first Intermat ranking as well, coming in at No. 20 in that publications' latest rankings at 141 pounds.
Along the way, the Lion sophomore recorded a major decision, a win by fall and a technical fall victory in a dominating performance. Overall, Kazimir has won two individual titles (Princeton Open/Patriot Open) and his lone loss on the season came in the finals of the Roadrunner Open, when he fell to No. 21 Durbin Lloren (Fresno State).
