
Stefanini Off to Strong Start with Italian U20 Squad

Columbia's rising junior is competing at the FIBA U20 European Championships in Israel this week.
TEL AVIV, Israel – Columbia men's basketball's Gabe Stefanini is currently playing at the 2019 FIBA U20 European Championship with the Italian National Team. Through two games, Stefanini is averaging 18.0 points on 7-of-12 shooting from 3-point range.
Stefanini tied for a team-high with 17 points, knocking down 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, as Italy coasted to an 85-58 win over Ukraine Saturday, July 13. The All-Ivy Leaguer followed with a 19-point, five-assist effort in a defeat against the hosts, Israel Sunday.
Italy closes the pool play Monday, July 15 at 11:15 a.m. (ET) against Serbia. The teams will then be seeded and begin the knockout stages Wednesday, July 17. Each game will be streamed live on FIBA's YouTube Channel.
