
Lions Set 2019-20 Non-Conference Slate

Year four of the Jim Engles' era begins Nov. 5 at Lafayette; home opener Nov. 13 vs. Binghamton
NEW YORK – Columbia men's basketball's 2019-20 non-conference schedule is officially complete, head coach Jim Engles announced Wednesday. The Lions' campaign is comprised of 16 contests, highlighted by four opponents that reached the 2019 NCAA Tournament and five home games.

Columbia kicks things off Tuesday, November 5, at Lafayette before heading to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest Sunday, November 10. The matchup with the Demon Deacons will be the first meeting between the schools since December 27, 1969.
The Lions make their Levien Gymnasium debut Wednesday, November 13, when Binghamton comes to town.
Columbia's next four matchups are a part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic. First up, defending National Champion, Virginia (Nov. 16) in Charlottesville followed by a trip to Queens to meet up with St. John's (Nov. 20). The Lions will play two more games at Mohegan Sun Arena, starting with a tilt against Rider on Saturday, November 23 and either Central Connecticut or Vermont Sunday, November 24.
On Saturday, November 30, Lehigh pays a visit to Morningside Heights prior to a season-long four-game road swing. Columbia heads to Delaware (Dec. 2), Bryant (Dec. 6), Duquesne (Dec. 9) and returns from a finals exam break at defending Patriot League Champs, Colgate (Dec. 22).
After a holiday hiatus, the Lions host Marist (Dec. 28) and Albany (Dec. 30). Columbia rings in 2020 at Maine (Jan. 2) and rounds out the slate against Division III College of Mount St. Vincent (Jan. 9).

Columbia Athletics announced new non-conference flex ticket plans for football, men's basketball and women's basketball. Two plans are available to provide fans flexibility and affordability to 14 ticketed events throughout the 2019-2020 season.
