PRINCETON, N.J. — Five Columbia Wrestling grapplers earned 2022 All-Ivy League honors as announced by the Ivy League as part of the postseason awards on Wednesday, Mar. 2.
Three Lions earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors with No. 27
Matt Kazimir (18-5, 3-0 IVY) at 141 pounds,
Danny Fongaro (16-10, 2-1 IVY) at 149 pounds and No. 18
Joshua Ogunsanya (17-5, 3-1 IVY) all getting the nod. While at 133 pounds and 174 pounds
Angelo Rini (18-8, 3-2 IVY) and
Nick Fine (20-11, 3-2 IVY) earned honorable mention nods respectively.
Kazimr got Ivy League dual wins over Danny Coles (No. 23 Princeton), JJ Wilson (No. 11 Cornell) and Michael Jaffe (Harvard) to go undefeated in the league. While Fongaro got a pair of wins off Lukus Stricker (Harvard) and Blake Saito (Brown) and Ogunsanya got a win over No. 25 Lucas Revano (Penn) and a pair of forfeited wins over his Ivy League dual season.
Rini's league wins came over Nick Kayal (Princeton), Dillon Murphy (Harvard) and Nicky Cabanillas (Brown), while for Fine his Ivy wins came against Nate Dugan (Princeton), Joshua Kim (Harvard) and a forfeited win against Brown.
