Roko Horvat secures the Lions' lone win.

Harrison, NY -- The No. 23 Columbia men's tennis team dropped its Ivy League opener, 4-1, to visiting No. 16 Harvard at LifeTime Westchester. Despite the loss, Columbia faces the majority of its Ivy League slate in the coming weeks and will have ample opportunity to defend its Ivy League title.

Tomorrow, the Lions play host to Dartmouth at 2:00 P.M.. Once again, access to the match will be limited to a pass list. To be considered, please complete THIS Google Form.

Harvard gained an early lead, winning the doubles point in a defeat of Columbia's top duo, #44 Max Westphal and Theo Winegar. The Crimson's momentum rolled into the singles competition as Westphal fell to Harry Walker 2-0 (6-2, 6-3) on the third court.

Roko Horvat answered for Columbia, earning the squad's first victory. From the sixth spot, Horvat recorded a straight set win over Steven Sun; 6-4, 6-4 to bring the Lions within one.

Unfortunately, the Crimson went on to once again add to their lead from the fourth position. Austen Huang fell 6-3, 6-4 moments before Hugo Hashimoto fell in a 0-6 second set on the second court to conclude the match.
