Bulsak joins the staff after a highly decorated collegiate career
NEW YORK – Andrew F. Barth Head Coach of Wrestling Donny Pritzlaff finalized Columbia's coaching staff with the hiring of Greg Bulsak as an assistant coach Wednesday.
"Columbia Wrestling is excited to hire such a high character individual as Greg Bulsak," Pritzlaff said. "He will complete our staff for 2024-25 and make an immediate impact on our program. Sebastian, Jeff and I have worked closely with Bulsak in the past and believe his professionalism will inspire our team. He is extremely disciplined and successful in every area of his life. We know Greg's expertise with training and nutrition will be a key component to helping our students raise their level on and off the mat."
Bulsak joins the Columbia coaching staff after a highly decorated collegiate career. Bulsak wrestled five seasons at Clarion University and one season at Rutgers. During his career, he was a five-time qualifier for the NCAA Division I National Wrestling Championships (2018-22). He is also a two-time Division I All-American, earning recognition in 2020 at Clarion and again in 2022 competing for Rutgers.
Bulsak compiled a 77-25 career record at Clarion. The 2021 season was a highlight as he posted a 12-3 record with nine wins via fall at 197 pounds. He earned the No. 14 seed at the 2021 NCAA Championships and was ranked as high as No. 8 in the FloWrestling rankings. Bulsak became Clarion's first wrestler to win a MAC individual title during the 2020 season. Bulsak was a team captain for the Clarion squad for four straight years (2018-22). He is also a five-time Academic All-American.
In one season at Rutgers, Bulsak posted a 26-9 record at 197 pounds. He finished seventh at the 2022 Big Ten Championships and finished eighth at the NCAA Championships to earn All-American status. Bulsak defeated then-No. 2 and NCAA runner-up Nino Bonaccorsi (Pittsburgh) to secure the 2021 Matmen Open title. Bulsak helped Rutgers produce 15 wins and 68 team points in dual action.
A 2021 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Bulsak holds a bachelor's degree in nutrition and fitness. He earned a certificate in labor and employment relations from Rutgers
University in 2022.
