
Squash Defeats Cornell in Regular Season Finale

Columbia celebrates senior day with two wins
NEW YORK – The Columbia men's and women's squash teams capped off the regular season with wins over Cornell on senior day at the SL Green Streetsquash Center.
The men finish the regular season with a 6-6 overall mark and 2-4 record in Ivy League play. The women are 4-8 at the end of the regular season with a 2-4 Ivy League mark.
The 7th-ranked men's team dominated in a 7-2 victory over No. 6 Cornell. The Big Red claimed victories in the first two positions, but Columbia earned wins in three through nine spots to take the win.
Shaurya Bawa, Zach Nam and Adam Goad needed just three games to win their matches. Laszlo Godde, Jacob Bulbulia and Paarth Ambani won in four games. Rutvik Rau battled to win in five sets in the No. 8 spot.
The No. 10 women's team showed some strength in a 6-3 win over No. 8 Cornell. The Big Red won the top two matches and the No. 9 match.
Amal Izhar won in three games in the No. 4 position. Eugenia Li lost the first game before bouncing back to win in four games over Cornell's Devon Shatzman in the No. 6 match.
Nourin Khalifa, Aleeza Khan, Kaavya Bansal and Advita Sharma all battled to win their matches in five games to help Columbia secure the victory.
UP NEXT
Columbia will head to Philadelphia for the 2024 CSA National Collegiate Team Championships starting on Thursday, February 29 and spanning through March 3 at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center.
