Fencing Picks Up USFCA Academic Awards

The Lions put 37 members of the squad on the USFCA All-Academic Team
NEW YORK — The United States Fencing Coaches Association honored 37 members of the Columbia fencing team after it announced the 2023 slate of NCAA Fencing Academic awards. All-Academic Team honors are presented to student-athletes at member institutions who have an in-season GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Additionally, 22 Lions from the 2022-23 squad were named Scholars of Distinction, which are presented student-athletes had a GPA of 3.7 or higher.
Both squads received All-Academic Team recognition for their combined in-season team GPA. The women boasted a 3.607, and the men had a 3.4339 for the academic year.
