Wrestling Places Three On All-Ivy List

Cesar Alvan, Jack McGill and Nick Fine earn All-Ivy honors
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia wrestlers Cesar Alvan, Jack McGill and Nick Fine secured All-Ivy League recognition Wednesday as announced by the Ivy League.
Alvan (165) and McGill (174) highlighted the list with Second Team All-Ivy League honors. Fine (184) joined the list as an honorable mention selection. Fine also earned Academic All-Ivy recognition.
Alvan posted a 2-1 record during Ivy League action this season. Alvan earned wins over Cael Berg (Harvard) and Keegan Rothrock (Brown) to help the Lions finish the Ivy dual slate on a strong note. Alvan's lone loss during Ivy action was against No. 5 Julian Ramirez from Cornell.
McGill went 4-1 overall during the Ivy slate as he competed in all five conference duals. McGill secured an impressive 14-3 major decision victory against No. 7 Nick Incontrera (Penn) to kick off the Ivy slate. McGill went on to defeat Xavier Giles (Princeton), Alex Whitworth (Harvard) and Drew Clearie (Brown).
Fine was 3-2 overall in Ivy League action as he also competed in all five duals at 184 pounds. Fine defeated No. 18 Maximus Hale (Penn) via fall in the first Ivy match of the season. He also earned wins against Luke Rada (Harvard) and Andrew Reall (Brown). Additionally, Fine earned Academic All-Ivy honors for his commitment in the classroom.
Columbia will head to Princeton for the Ivy League Championships on Sunday. The Lions will be competing for automatic bids to the NCAA Championships that will take place later this month in Philadelphia.
