
Columbia Men’s Squash Beats Harvard to Finish Fifth at CSA National Team Championships

Men’s squash finishes the weekend with three wins in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Columbia men's squash team finished the season on high note Sunday afternoon by defeating No. 6 Harvard, 5-4 in a tight battle that went down to the wire. The victory secured a fifth-place national finish.
Columbia finishes the weekend at the CSA National Team Championships with three wins, including upset victories against No. 5 Virginia and No. 6 Harvard. The Lions were able to avenge losses to both Virginia and Harvard from earlier this season.
The Lions opened the weekend with a dominant 7-2 victory against No. 9 Cornell. Columbia then came up short in a battle against No. 1 Penn to move into the consolation bracket. Columbia won its final two contests of the weekend to end the season with a 9-8 overall record.
Franklyn Smith, Imad Athar, Zach Nam, Laszlo Godde and Paarth Ambani posted individual wins to help the Lions get past Harvard.
