Squash Earns All-Ivy Recognition

Sheikh Headlines First Team Honors; Five Lions Recognized by Ivy League
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia squash placed three student-athletes on the 2025-26 All-Ivy League Teams, highlighted by sophomore Yusuf Sheikh earning First Team honors. Junior Shaurya Bawa and senior Nourin Khalifa garnered Second Team recognition. Additionally, juniors Paarth Ambani and Eugenia Li were named to the Academic All-Ivy list, the league office announced Thursday.
First Team All-Ivy League
Yusuf Sheikh | Sophomore | Men's Squash
Sheikh earned First Team All-Ivy League honors after anchoring Columbia at the top of the lineup throughout the season. Competing primarily at the No. 1 position, the sophomore consistently faced the conference's top competitors and posted a 9–4 overall record, including a 4–2 mark in Ivy League play. Sheikh also made an immediate impact on the national stage, advancing to the Round of 32 in his first appearance at the CSA Individual National Championships.
Second Team All-Ivy League
Shaurya Bawa | Junior | Men's Squash
Bawa secured his second career All-Ivy League selection after serving as a steady presence in the upper half of the lineup. Competing primarily at the No. 2 position during Ivy play, Bawa recorded a 7–7 overall mark this season and delivered several key performances for the Lions. He also advanced to the final round of the Men's Consolation division at the CSA Individual National Championships.
Nourin Khalifa | Senior | Women's Squash
Khalifa closed out her senior campaign with Second Team All-Ivy League recognition after competing primarily at the No. 1 position for the Lions. The team captain provided leadership throughout the season and contributed key performances in conference play, finishing with a 2–4 overall record and a 1–2 mark against Ivy League opponents.
Academic All-Ivy
Paarth Ambani | Junior | Men's Squash
Eugenia Li | Junior | Women's Squash
Ambani and Li were recognized for their excellence both on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-Ivy distinction is reserved for upperclass student-athletes in good academic standing who have made significant contributions to their teams while maintaining strong academic performance.
