Columbia wins its fourth match in a row.
NEW YORK — No. 21 Columbia men's tennis team swept Delaware 7–0 on Tuesday at the Milstein Family Tennis Center, claiming the doubles point and all six singles matches to complete the shutout.
The win for the Lions (9-4) was their fourth straight and seventh in their last eight matches. It also marks the third straight match Columbia has not surrendered a point to its opposition. Delaware falls to 9-2 on the year.
Columbia jumped out to a 1-0 lead after securing the doubles point on courts two and three. Michael Zheng and Jordan Chang defeated Mason Robins and Federico Garbero, 6–2. Zheng and Chang were leading 3-1 with the game tied 40-40 when the Lions got the point to break serve. They went on to take the match on an ace from Chang.
On court three, Thanaphat Boosarawongse and Abhishek Thorat clinched the point with a 6–3 win over Pere Prat and Itamar Tapiro. The top doubles match featuring Nicolas Kotzen and Andrew Ena against Tobey Lock and Euan Mackenzie was left unfinished at 5–3.
The Lions carried that momentum into singles play, winning every match in straight sets except one.
At No. 4 singles, Thorat opened the scoring with a 6–2, 6–2 victory over Tapiro. Zheng, the seventh-ranked player in the country, followed with a 6–2, 6–2 win against Lock on court one. No. 30 Nicolas Kotzen extended the lead, defeating Garbero 6–2, 6–3 at No. 2 singles.

Ena completed the sweep in the final match of the day, outlasting Robins 6–4, 6–7 (4), 1–0 (10) at No. 6 singles.
