IVY LEAGUE RELEASE
NEW YORK - First-year Josie Little earned her first collegiate honors on Monday, Jan. 4, afternoon as she was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week after an impressive performance in a pair of games for the Lions.
The Rookie finished the week averaging 5.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game after picking up her first career double-double with an 11 point, 14 rebound performance in a 102-18 win over Central Penn on Jan. 3. Little also played a major force off the bench for the Lions in their win over Wagner earlier in the week, picking up 10 rebounds, two steals and a block in only 14 minutes of action.
First-year Abby Lee also earned her first collegiate award this week, landing a spot on the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll with sophomore Camille Zimmerman after a 2-0 week for the Lions. Lee led Columbia with 19 points against Central Penn, shooting 7-of-13 from the floor and 5-for-10 from beyond the arc while draining the basket that put Columbia over the Century-mark in the 102-18 win against the Knights. Zimmerman picked up her third honor roll selection of the year and fifth conference award of the season after a 17-point, six-rebound performance over Wagner before adding six points and a pair of rebounds against the Knights.
The award marks the second Rookie of the Week award of the season for Columbia after Emily Surloff took the honors on Dec. 21 for the Lions.
