Zimmerman Voted CoSIDA Academic All-District

NEW YORK – Columbia senior Camille Zimmerman has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 First Team, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The All-District honorees for women’s basketball were announced on Thursday.
To be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA, play a significant role on his or her team, have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games and have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing. Zimmerman carries a 3.43 GPA as an economics major in Columbia College.
As a First Team selection, Zimmerman will be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in March.
Zimmerman leads the Ivy League in points per game (19.5), total points (488), field goals made (174), free throws made (126), free throw percentage (.881), rebounds per game (9.7), total rebounds (242) and double-doubles (13). Nationally, she ranks among the top-25 in the NCAA in free throw percentage and double-doubles, while ranking among the top-50 in scoring average, rebounds per game and free throws made.
Columbia’s all-time leading scorer, Zimmerman has totaled 1,896 career points, collected 887 rebounds, tallied 242 assists, 130 steals and 98 blocks. She is a Top-10 Finalist for the 2018 Katrina McClain Award, presented by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame to the nation’s best power forward. The Tempe, Arizona, native has been named Ivy League Player of the Week a Columbia-record 10 times in her career, including three this season.
Zimmerman is the first member of the Columbia women's basketball team to earn Academic All-District honors since Kathleen Barry in 2010-11.
