Final Stats

PRINCESS ANNE, MD. - In the second tournament match of the day, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) swept Columbia 30-22, 30-25, and 30-28. The Hawks (5-6) cruised through the first two games, but ran into some pressure in the third as they came close to blowing a 27-17 advantage as the Lions who are 0-7 overall, closed to 27-26 before UMES found a way to win the third and final game.

For Columbia, who fell to 0-3 on the weekend thusfar, they were led by Cassie Ligh, who had a team-high 11 kills and 15 digs. Through the three matches Ligh leads her team with 35 kills and leads the tournament with 45 digs.

C.U. will play its final game in the Hawk Invitational against Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. later today.
