Final Stats

NEW YORK - It's not often that one can see a school career record, single-season record and single-game record set in the same game - by three different people. Columbia fans at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium were treated to all three as the Lions defeated Vermont, 20-15, in their season finale. The Lions' eighth victory of the season was also a school best.

The single-game record came from first-year Holly Glynn, who had six assists to establish a new Columbia mark. Glynn also surpassed sophomore teammate Marisa Marcellino for the Columbia record for points in a season by a first-year; Glynn had seven points today to finish the season with 38, four better than Marcellino's 34 last spring.

Junior Kate Lombard entered the day tied with Marcellino for the team lead in points with 42, three behind Carrie Anderer's record of 45 set last season. Lombard scored six goals and added an assist to finish with 49 points. Her six goals also gave her 41 for the year, passing Anderer's school record of 40.

The career record came from senior co-captain Anderer. The midfielder scored her fourth goal of the day with 6:16 left in the second half to tie her with Adie Moll `04CC at 96 career goals. With just 47 seconds to play, Marcellino found Anderer cutting across the goal and Anderer picked a corner, giving her 97 goals for her four years and the school record to herself. Her seven points today left her one short of the school career record of 127 points held by Moll.

After the Lions jumped out to a 6-1 advantage in the first eight minutes of play, Vermont never got closer than two goals. Lombard scored four of those first six for the Lions, including the game's opening goal at 46 seconds. Her six for the afternoon was one short of tying Anderer's school single-game record of seven, set in 2005.

The Catamounts pulled within two goals twice - 8-6 and 9-7 - late in the first half. However, the Lions led 11-7 at halftime and Vermont never closed within fewer than four in the second half. The Lions' 20 goals was the second time this season and the second time in the program's history that the Lions scored 20 or more in a game.

Rachael Ryan had three goals to finish the season with 21; she is the sixth Columbia player to score 20 or more goals this season. The Lions had never had more than three players score more than 20 until this spring.

Marcela Calidonio played the opening 33:21 of the game in goal to get the win in her final collegiate appearance.

For Vermont (6-9), Kristen Millar had two goals and six assists. She assisted each of the Catamounts' four goals in the closing four minutes of the contest.

The Lions finish the regular season 8-8.
