HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth scored eight minutes into the game and added an insurance goal in the 65th minute to defeat Columbia 2-0 in Ivy League field hockey action in Hanover, N.H.
Columbia dropped to 6-7, 0-4 Ivy, while Dartmouth improved to 7-7, 3-2 Ivy.
Whitney Waugh scored on the Big Green's only penalty corner of the first half. Laura Kistler and Lindsay Gossage assisted the goal.
Lizzie Bildner scored at 64:30, unassisted, for the final 2-0 margin. Columbia had six corners to Dartmouth's four, but the Big Green out-shot the Lions 9-6.
Goalkeeper Kristina George (CC-Encinitas, Calif.) finished with five saves in goal.
The Lions return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 26, when they host Penn at Hofstra University.
