NEW YORK -- Columbia placed first in 14 of 16 events in a 194-101 triumph over Dartmouth in the team's first home meet of 2004-05. Grace Coyle, Amy Krakauer, Kelly McConnell and Lauren Morford were double-winners in individual events for C.U. The meet was the first contested in the recently-refurbished Uris Pool.

After the Lions opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, Morford won the first individual event of the day with a time of 17:09.85 in the 1650 free. Classmate Kathryn Taylor was second in 17:32.84. In the 500 free, Morford placed first in 5:01.62, as Kaki Dudley, Leila Forrence and Lisa Rohrs completed a 1-2-3-4 sweep for the Lions in that event.

Forrence was first in the 200 free, followed in second and third by Kate Head and Dudley, respectively.

McConnell was victorious in the two backstroke events; she won the 100 in 59.34 and the 200 in 2:23.84. Lauren Belive and Gretchen Plank were second and third at both distances.

Krakauer won the 100 and 200 breast in her first collegiate home meet. Her time of 1:06.34 finished just ahead of teammate Kathryn Alexander (1:06.5) in the 100, and, at the longer distance, she swam 2:23.84.

Mary McCue won the 50 free in 24.48 and was second in the 100 free in 54.18. In the latter event, Head was first in 53.45. Leslie Baily was second in the 50 in 24.64.

Susannah Knox touched first in the 100 fly in 58.79.

In the diving events, senior co-captain Grace Coyle won both boards with scores of 256.05 on the one-meter, and 283.70 on the 3m.

Swimming as an exhibition, the foursome of Knox, McCue, Baily and head swam 1:37.65 to win the 200 free relay to conclude the meet.

Columbia has a 24-hour respite before facing Fordham at home Mon., Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. in Uris Pool in a meet with the men, who also host the Rams.
