NEW YORK, N.Y. - Sue Altman CC'05, former Columbia guard, was signed by Killester in the Irish Superleague and will continue her career in Dublin, Ireland. Altman, the eighth leading scorer in Lions history, was recruited as a point guard.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity to not only play, but to experience different cultures and to see how far basketball can take me in life," Altman said.

Talent scouts from the Killester organization spotted Altman at a basketball camp in Germany where she was named MVP. The team won the Irish Cup last season and Altman will step in and play the point for the defending champs. Due to league regulations, Altman will be the only American on the team.

Altman graduated from Voorhees high school played for Holy Cross her freshman year. She transferred to Columbia and sat out her sophomore year due to NCAA guidelines. In her first season on the court for the Lions, Altman led the team in scoring with 17.1 points per game. She set a record in free throw percentage, making 85%, and was named the team MVP. The following year, she was named first team All-Ivy and led the team in scoring again with 15.7 points per game. With only one semester of eligibility left, Altman took off the fall semester of the 2004-05 season and returned to the team in December. She hit the game-winning basket with no time left on the clock to help the Lions defeat Yale in the last game of the season and finished her career as the eighth leading scorer in Columbia history with 964 points.
