Brent Morden

Brent A. Morden is a New York-based music director, conductor, composer, and educator. While a student at Columbia College, Brent served as President and Assistant Conductor of the CU Wind Ensemble, and Music Director of Uptown Vocal and The 125th Annual Varsity Show. Brent has conducted his award-winning band compositions at venues including Carnegie Hall, Riverside Park, and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. As a musical theater artist, Brent most recently co-composed, orchestrated, and music directed original Off-Broadway bound musical Infernal, with other professional musical direction credits including Newsies and Beauty and the Beast. In addition to his band and theater work, Brent remains an active singer and choral teacher in the NYC Metro Area. Brent currently serves as Vocal Jazz Ensemble Director at Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY), Chorus Teacher at Hunter College Elementary School (New York, NY), and Voice Faculty at From Stage to Screen Performing Arts Academy (Huntington, NY). Brent is thrilled to continue his creative service to the Columbia community as Director of the new Columbia Athletics Band.
