Sara Vicenzin

Sara Vicenzin was hired as Columbia's sabre coach in October 2024.
 
Vicenzin has been involved with fencing for over 45 years. Her coaching achievements include training Olympians and guiding athletes to numerous medals at international competitions. Notably, she coached Olympians such as Michela Battiston, Khalil Thompson, and Shaul Gordon.
 
Currently, she is the co-owner and co-head coach at Advance Fencing & Fitness Academy and serves as a saber coach at the New York Athletic Club. She has also coached with the U.S. National Team at various World Cups. In her first season working with American fencers, Vicenzin helped her students achieve 10 medals at the North American Cup Competitions and two medals at the cadet and junior world cups.
 
She previously served as co-head coach at Gemina Scherma Fencing Club and coached members of various national teams, including Italy, Venezuela, Croatia, and Japan. Sara also served as an international fencing referee (FIE) from 2006 to 2009.
 
In 2005, she earned her "Maestro of Fencing" Degree in Italy at the National Academy of Fencing. Additionally, Vicenzin earned a Sports Management Degree and a Social Community Manager Degree in Rome, Italy.
 
As an athlete, Vicenzin achieved remarkable success, including being ranked in the top eight of the Italian women's saber, winning bronze medals in the Italian championship, and being a member of the Italian National Team.
