Born Ruoqui Fei on January 28, 2002 in Beijing, China … Daughter of Zhaohui Fei and Hanqiu Wang of Paris, France … Began fencing when she was seven years old and fell in love with the sport the first time she picked up a foil … Has a variety of nicknames including Q and Olivia … Hobbies and interests include painting, traveling, reading French literature, soccer, badminton, and basketball … Had brief experience as a model … Used to play the Basson … Favorite sports memory was the first time she stood on a podium … Became interested in Columbia after meeting Head Coach Michael Aufrichtig at the 2019 July Challenge … Chose Columbia because she wanted to be a part of the Columbia Fencing community and better herself in fencing in the United States and also to experience American culture … Also chose Columbia-Barnard for its location in New York City .. Enrolled at Barnard College … Plans to major in Economics or Psychology.
