Biography
2019-20 (Junior): Finished 11-7, going 6-2 at the number nine spot ... Ended the season with a two match winning streak ... Opened the year with a seven match winning streak ... Snagged a pair of Ivy League wins during the streak, knocking off No. 10 Cornell's Ania LaDow (12-10, 11-4, 12-10) on Dec. 8 and No. 12 Brown's Catherine Kimmel (7-11, 11-8, 11-3, 14-12) on Jan. 11 ... Finished the season with back-to-back wins at the CSA Team National Championships (Feb. 21-23) ... Got a win over No. 6 Stanford's Julia Gillette (11-5, 11-3, 11-3) to help Columbia finish the season fifth (best in program history) at the CSA Team National Championships.
2017-18 (First-Year): Went 7-9 during rookie campaign for the Lions including 3-4 mark in Ivy League play competing primarily in the No. 7 position... Picked up her first career win against Franklin & Marshall (Nov. 19)... Notched a win against Cornell in the CSA Team Championships (Feb. 18).
HIGH SCHOOL: 2017 graduate of Wellesley High School in Wellesley, MA… Commended National Merit Scholar Student… Member of the National Foreign Language Honor Society her junior and senior years… National Honor Society Member…2016 Massachusetts Squash Sportsmanship Award
PERSONAL: Born September 25, 1998 in Boston, MA… Daughter of Yanming Chen and Peggy Jin… Both parents are computer software engineers… Brother Kelvin is a former squash player who went to Amherst College… The Columbia core curriculum was a major influencing factor in her decision to attend the school… She and a few of her friends write a food blog together… Her favorite school subject is biology.
