Kyle Mattracionย enters his eighth year in the Columbia University Athletics Department. He joined the Lions inย September of 2016. After five years as an Assistant Director for Athletics Communications,ย he was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics Communications and Multimedia in Septemberย of 2022. He now serves as the Assistant Athletics Director forย Communications and Multimedia.
Mattracion is the primary communications contact for Columbia's women's basketball, men's soccer, softball, golf andย squash programs. In his multimedia role, Mattracionย helps to create, produce andย implementย Columbia athletics' on-demand multimedia content. He also oversees all content posted to the @GoColumbiaLions social media accounts.
Prior to Columbia, Mattracion spent three years as the Assistant Athletic Media Relations Director at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. Mattracion worked directly with Wofford's men's basketball, volleyball, men's golf and women's golf programs, also spending one season with the women's basketball program. During the 2014-15 academic year, Mattracion led the media relations efforts for a men's basketball program that advancedย to the NCAA Tournament.
Mattracion also has four combined years of student experience in the field, including two as a graduate assistant at East Tennessee State University and two as an athletic communications intern at St. John's University. In his two seasons at ETSU, Mattracion covered menโs and womenโs soccer, track & field, tennis and softball, also filling in to cover select menโs and womenโs basketball and baseball games. At St. Johnโs, Mattracion had an extensive role in the athletic communication departmentโs video productions. He filmed, edited and produced numerous live video streams, press conferences, feature videos and highlight reels for StormTracker All-Access.

Mattracion graduated magna cum laude with a bachelorโs degree in sport management from St. Johnโs in 2011, minoring in business. He added a masterโs degree in business administration from ETSU in 2013. He and his wife Kimberly, reside in New Jersey.
