Aliza Feuerstein began as an assistant athletic trainer at Columbia University in fall 2017. She works primarily with the Lions’ men's basketball along with the women's tennis team.

She has also spent time with Columbia's wrestling and men’s and women’s squash teams.
 
Feuerstein arrived at Columbia during the fall of 2017 after spending three years at nearby Fordham University (2014-17). At Fordham, she worked with the Rams’ volleyball, squash and baseball teams, along with the swimming & diving and women’s tennis teams in previous years. Her duties centered on creating rehabilitation programs, recognition, evaluation and treatment of injuries, drug testing and designing nutritional plans for student-athletes.

Prior to her tenure at Fordham, she served a year as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the New York Red Bulls soccer team in 2014. She assisted the sports medicine staff with recognition, evaluation and treatment of injuries and also assisted in creating nutritional diet plans and worked with the Red Bull academy teams.
 
A 2012 graduate of Syracuse University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science, Feuerstein went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University in May 2014.
 
While at Seton Hall, Feuerstein served as a graduate student trainer for Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J. during the fall 2013 season where she worked with the football, soccer, basketball and wrestling and track and field programs. She also previously served an athletic training internship at Columbia during the summer of 2013, where she assisted with the Lions’ summer football camp.
 
Feuerstein also worked as a graduate assistant trainer at Wagner College in the spring of 2013, where she handled training duties for the basketball, lacrosse, baseball, water polo and swimming squads, and at Caldwell College in the fall of 2012, where she worked with the soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, track and field and tennis programs.
 
Feuerstein is CPR/AED certified for the Professional Rescuer and holds a Board of Certification for Athletic Training. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association.
