Corey Fortunato joined the Columbia Athletics staff in October of 2023 as an HR Manager.
Corey Fortunato has served as the Associate Director of Administration for Temple University Athletics since June, 2022. He joined the Temple staff as Business Operations Coordinator in September 2019.
As the Associate Director of Administration, Fortunato served as the primary Human Resources contact for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Prior to joining Temple Athletics, Fortunato served at Las Americas ASPIRA Academy as Athletic Director, Physical Education Teacher, and Head Basketball Coach. In his role there, he oversaw all athletic operations including scheduling, human resource management, staffing, facility management, and finances.
Prior to arriving at Las Americas ASPIRA Academy, Fortunato served as a Physical Education Teacher and Basketball Coach at multiple middle and high schools in the Red Clay Consolidated School District in Wilmington, Del.
Fortunato spent 10 years at the YMCA in Kennett Square, Pa., serving in various roles, including Sports Coordinator, Coach, and Referee. At the YMCA, he oversaw all aspects of youth and adult athletic leagues including planning, marketing, scheduling and operations.
Fortunato earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from West Virginia in 2014. He went on to earn a master's degree in Sports Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from Pennsylvania Western University, California (formally California University of Pennsylvania) in 2018. He is currently certified as a Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
Fortunato currently resides in Philadelphia, PA, with his wife Justine, and their dog Skye.
