Hayden was a four-year member of the Penn Field Hockey team, where she was an NFHCA National Academic Squad member. She went on to play her final year of eligibility at Boston College, where the team advanced to the ACC Championship game and the first round of the NCAA tournament in 2024.
In 2025, Columbia's seven wins were the most for the program since 2021. The Lions upset No. 18 UAlbany, 3-0, in the season opener on Sep. 5. The victory was Columbia's first over a ranked opponent since 2019 and the second shutout in a road season opener in program history.
Forward Jacinta Solari Etcheberry was named Second Team All-Ivy League for a second straight season and goalkeeper Margot Houle was tabbed Honorable Mention in 2025. Houle's 102 saves and 6.87 saves per game led the Ivy League.
Hayden is a Long Island native and graduate of Northport High School, where she was named All-State and Newsday First-Team All-Long Island. She has coached at Lasting Legacy and Dynasty Field Hockey Clubs, where she has most recently held the role of Director of Goalkeeping Development. Hayden ran her own coaching business, Island Goalkeeping, and has helped many players through the recruiting process.
Hayden has also spent her summers working with Ultimate Defender Goalkeeper Academy, where she delivered elite-level skill instruction, gave mental health and recruiting talks, and was able to receive mentorship from NCAA goalkeeper coaches.
Hayden was selected for the 2022 Senior Nexus Championship, where she was then chosen for advancement to the U21 National Team Selection Camp in Chula Vista, Calif. In her final semester at Penn, she also helped coach goalkeepers in the Nexus pipeline in Region 4.
Hayden graduated from Penn in 2024 with a major in psychology and a minor in architecture. She will pursue her master’s degree at Columbia’s School of Social Work starting this fall.
