Kobe Turlington joined the Columbia University Athletics staff in September 2026 as an Associate Athletic Trainer, working primarily with the women's basketball and men's tennis programs.
Prior to arriving at Columbia, Turlington served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Manhattan University, where he worked primarily with the men's basketball and women's flag football programs. In addition to providing coverage across multiple sports, he coordinated pre-participation exams, developed rehabilitation and maintenance protocols and helped oversee athletic training operations and inventory.
Turlington previously spent the 2025 NFL season with the New York Jets as a seasonal athletic training intern. During his time with the Jets, he assisted with medical and training room operations throughout practices and games, maintained treatment and rehabilitation records and was selected to lead pre-arrival logistics and training room setup for the team's trip to London.
While completing his graduate studies, Turlington served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with the University of South Carolina football program from 2023-24. He provided medical services for the Gamecocks while working alongside team physicians and helped oversee athletic training students. He later served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Fairfield Central High School during the 2024-25 academic year.
Turlington also gained NFL experience as an athletic training intern with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. He assisted with treatments, rehabilitation, taping and protective equipment while supporting the team's certified athletic training staff.
A graduate of West Virginia University, Turlington earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2023, graduating cum laude with minors in sport and exercise psychology and communication studies. He earned his master's degree in advanced athletic training from the University of South Carolina in 2025.
