Tala Russell joined the Columbia Athletics department in 2020 as Administrative Assistant/Office Manager before being promoted to Administrative Assistant, Sports Operations in August 2023.
At Columbia, Russell provides high-level, administrative support for the Head Coaches and Athletic Department, including business and personal scheduling, domestic and international travel, and correspondence. She also schedules and coordinates meetings, conferences, interviews, conference calls, reservations, workshops, and events cross-departmentally.
Prior to her time at Columbia, Russell served as a Patient Care Coordinator for Modern MD Urgent Care PC from 2017-20. Russell also served as a men’s basketball manager for St. Francis College from 2015-17.
Russell received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis College in 2016 and a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Canisius in 2020.
