Volleyball Defeated 3-1 By LIU

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Columbia traveled cross town to face city rival LIU, losing 3-1. First-year Amalia Viti led the team again in kills, this time with 13. Columbia is now 4-12 overall, 2-3 in the Ivy League.
The Lions came out slow in the first game, losing 22-30. The next two games were close, with the Blackhawks winning the second 29-31 and Columbia winning the third, 30-28. LIU recovered quickly, winning the fourth game 14-30.
Putting up double digits along with Viti was Cassie Ligh with 10 kills, Natalie Gerling with 12 kills, Danielle Alexander with 10 digs and Ashley Kim with a team-high 18 digs.
Columbia continues its road streak, facing Harvard and Dartmouth. The Lions take on the Crimson on Friday, October 21st at 7 p.m and the Big Green on Saturday, October 22nd at 4 p.m.
