
Volleyball Falls 3-0 At Penn

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Columbia ended the season in a 3-0 (38-36, 30-17, 30-17) loss to Penn, finishing up at 6-19 overall, 4-10 in the Ivy League.
In the first game, the score was tied 17 times and the game saw six lead changes. Once the score reached 24 all, neither team managed to pull away sending the game into overtime. Amalia Viti went for a kill on game point but the attempt was blocked by Cara Thomason and Kathryn Turner to seal the game for the Quakers.
The Red and Blue used two four point runs and a five point run to get ahead of the Lions in game two. In game three a 7-0 run put Penn ahead 17-7. They never let Columbia get within 10 points the rest of the game.
Viti and sophomore Natalie Gerling had 10 kills apiece in the match with Gerling ending the match with a double-double with 13 digs. Fellow sophomore Cassie Ligh also had 13 digs.
