What event besides your own would you like to try?

If I had the upper-body strength, I would love to be a pole vaulter. I can't imagine what it feels like to shoot yourself up and fall 15 feet!

What's the most demanding part of running in a race?
I think learning how to react to other people's actions is difficult. Every race presents a different situation with a different group of people. You can't ever have a set race plan or prediction, because you never know what will happen. Sometimes it might be a sit-and-kick race or someone might go out at an insanely fast pace. People fall, drop batons, get spiked or are just unnecessarily pushy. You just have to know how to take care of yourself and still get the job done. It has taken me a long time to learn how to react to different racing situations.

What's your favorite surface to run on?

Soft trails. If I can get to a nature preserve or state park, long trails in the woods are the best.

What's your ideal setting to run in (i.e. early in the morning, cool, crowd watching, etc.)
My ideal running setting is around other people because it allows me to focus on something or someone else. I also love running in hot, humid weather in the summer.

How did you choose the event you run in?
I run the mile, generally. The event is perfect for me, because it is usually classified as a distance event, but it's also short enough that it requires speed. I think the race combines the best of both worlds?sprinting and distance running.

One TV show people don't believe that you watch...
VH1's I Love New York (or Flavor of Love)

Most embarrassing song on your ipod?

Almost every song on my iPod is embarrassing. I have everything from the Spice Girls to O-Town.

What song would you sing at karaoke?
Tiffany, "I Think We're Alone Now"

What is your greatest achievement in your sport to date?

Our 4x800 relay won the Heptagonal Ivy League title this past indoor season and also set the indoor Heps record in the event. I was the anchor leg and the whole Armory was going crazy, so it was a really exciting race. It was just one of those moments in life that I will never forget.

I'm “addicted” to...
Bubble tea
