NEW YORK -- Juliette Kenny has joined the Columbia Athletics staff as the Director of Compliance, Dr. M. Dianne Murphy, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education, announced.
Since October 2006, Kenny has served in a similar role as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance at Iona College, where she coordinated all matters pertaining to compliance and implemented rules education for staff members and outside constituents regarding NCAA and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference legislation.
“I have no doubt that Juliette will be an outstanding addition to our staff,” Murphy says. “Her positive demeanor, excellent organization skills and the vast experience in intercollegiate athletics she has gained in a short amount of time make her an excellent choice as our new Director of Compliance.”
A 2005 graduate of Villanova with a business administration degree and a double minor in international business and French language and literature, Kenny was a four-year member of the cross country and track and field teams. She was a multiple qualifier for the Big East and ECAC Championships.
Kenny also was an All-Big East Academic team member and after graduation, she was a graduate assistant coach at her alma mater, aiding in recruiting, training and travel arrangements within the track and field program.
Prior to her appointment as the compliance director at Iona, Kenny served as the intramural and recreation assistant at Iona and worked as a legal assistant for L.K. Shields Solicitors in Dublin, Ireland.
She is currently pursuing her master's degree in sport management at Columbia's School of Continuing Education.
