
Men's Basketball Tabbed Sixth in Ivy League Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. ? The Ivy League preseason poll is out and Columbia was picked sixth in the league, in a poll conducted by the league's media members.
Last year's champion Cornell was the unanimous top selection with 128 points, followed by Penn with 110 points. Yale, Harvard and Brown were next in the poll. After the Lions, Dartmouth and Princeton rounded out the selections.
Columbia returns nine letterwinners from last season, including four seniors and three juniors. The team is returning from a successful European trip taken in late August in which Columbia won three of four against tough competition overseas.
The Lions will open the 2008-09 season on the road against crosstown rival Fordham on Friday, November 14 at 8 p.m.
Columbia tips off its home schedule at the 2008 Tyler Ugolyn Columbia Classic, beginning on Friday, November 21. Columbia will take on Bryant in the nightcap at 8 p.m. Season tickets are now available online or by calling 888-LIONS-11.
